We weren’t bought; We’re growing

Managed - Circle M LogoHere at PowerDNN, we’ve been dedicated to providing the best possible service and support for DNN / DotNetNuke. Our company was built on DNN, providing a great product at a competitive price, and — most of all — our deep commitment to our customers and the Community.

Many companies preach about their customer support; we actually live it. And it’s our never-ending commitment to providing the best possible customer experience that has led us to the next chapter of our company.

Our history has deep roots in the DotNetNuke / DNN platform. Through the success of PowerDNN, we became known as the premier hosting environment for all things DotNetNuke related. We built a reputation off of our impeccable 24/7/365 support, providing our customers knowledgeable answers from DNN experts.

Multiple brands, same dedication

PowerDNN has been a great success for us, and we’re proud of the important role it plays in the DNN Community. Over the years, however, many of our customers have said, “I wish I could get PowerDNN-level support for WordPress,” or Drupal, or Joomla, or my database, or a host of other services.

This made perfect sense to us. So, since our name already had “DNN” in it, we worked to avoid confusion that a CMS-specific name like that could foster. We have launched several successful brands that allow us to offer a more varied range of services, without “diluting” the DotNetNuke aspect of the PowerDNN brand.

This is where these multiple brands have their roots.

Over the years this has built up additional expertise, which is great, but has also added complexity. And we duplicated a lot of effort maintaining separate websites, systems, products, specs, documents, files, and marketing efforts. Make no mistake, it’s all still “us,” it’s just an “us” that has been pulled in a dozen different directions.

To address this, we have begun consolidating all of our different brands, hosting products, and service offerings under one great new name:

New name, still the same people

Over the coming weeks, many of these multiple systems will be merging into one. This is a long process that our entire team has been working on behind the scenes for months, and now we’re at the stage where the changes are “customer facing.” In short, if you’re familiar with any of our multiple brands, you will begin to see more and more communications from “Managed.com” — in email notices, social media, announcements, and from our team members.

When you call our 24/7/365 support team, you will now hear “Thank you for calling Managed.com,” but rest assured you are still talking to the same people you’ve worked with for years; and our unflagging commitment to our customers — and to providing the best support in the industry — is as strong as it’s ever been.

Even though we will still be the same people providing the same great products, services, and support that our customers expect from us, change can be unsettling. To this, we wanted to be clear about several points:

  1. We haven’t been bought, sold, or acquired.
  2. No outside capital has entered the picture.
  3. There has been no change in ownership or management.
  4. We are still growing and fully funded by the customers we love.
  5. We are all very proud of PowerDNN, and what it has accomplished.
  6. We’re excited about Managed.com and what the future holds for us.

The products and services offered by PowerDNN are not going away, but they will be merged into the offerings of the new Managed.com site. However, you will notice that we focus our marketing, communications, and social media efforts on the Managed.com brand.

A dozen paths diverged in the wood

We appreciate all of the kind words, support, and heartfelt congratulations we’ve already received from our customers and development partners as we make this transition. We’ve been privileged to work with some great people over the years, and we look forward to many more years together.

To paraphrase Robert Frost: “A dozen paths diverged in the wood; we took all of them. Somewhere a decade hence they all merged. This has taken us to Managed.com, and that has made all the difference.”
